Join the Sterling Municipal Library's Teen Volunteer Program! This program is open for teens, aged 13-18, to volunteer weekly and help us create displays, put together takeaway crafts, create supplies for programs, and even decorate for community events. All dependable, responsible teens interested in earning community service hours or gaining experience in a fun work environment should consider applying!

Applications are now open for the Fall semester program. Applications will closed on August 25th at Midnight. This weekly service will run from September 2nd to December 19th.

Teen volunteers may be assisting with a variety of different tasks throughout the semester. In general, you should expect to be doing simple crafts, such as using scissors, tracing, and gluing. Generally, there is no manual labor or heavy lifting. All volunteer slots can accommodate things such as wheelchairs, walkers, and low mobility.

There is no minimum skill requirement, but weekly attendance to the timeslot you selected is required. If you have questions about the commitment, please reach out to the program supervisor at cahterine.beverly@baytown.org.

  • Must be at least 13 years of age when the semester start date begins.
  • Must be able to commit to all (if not most) of the weekly timeslots that you sign up for.
  • Must be comfortable with simple craft skills (gluing, scissors, etc).
  • Overall, must be excited to learn new skills and help the community!

There is no book or reading requirement to join.
