Baytown Serves is a City initiative that seeks to meet community needs by developing City department opportunities, connecting volunteers and organizations with projects, and partnering with local nonprofits to expand their reach.

Outreach and Education opportunities are perfect for volunteers who want a direct connection to the community. There are opportunities to train for disasters, lead student groups, prepare crafts for Library events and more!

Teens, age 13-18, can help create displays, put together takeaway crafts and programs, and even decorate for events at the Sterling Municipal Library. Learn more here! Applications will open each semester.

The Heart of Baytown Volunteers/Docents will act as guides for visitors to the Brunson Theater, teaching about Baytown history and providing Baytown recommendations.

Volunteers, ages 18+, can learn more about the police department and actively serve as a volunteer in the community through opportunities such as the Citizens Police Academy(External link), Citizens on Patrol(External link), and more!

Get more involved in public safety by joining the volunteer Community Emergency Response Team(External link), training to the general public and residents about disaster preparedness, response skills, and fire safety, or the Baytown Fire Explorers(External link), career training and development in the Fire and EMS industry for individuals ages 14-20 as part of a partnership with the Boy Scouts of America.
